The events in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in particular Kosovo in the 1990's
were the inspiration for my first pieces about women as victims of war.
The images of grieving women that arrived on a daily basis in the newspaper
were impossible for me to ignore.
Recently, I find myself
drawn even more to universal issues of political and social relevance.
The press coverage of the War in Iraq overwhelmed me with daily revelations
of misdeeds, injustices and untruths. I despair over the lack of solutions to the
escalation of violence and the mounting loss of life.
